Principal Technology Consultant / Technical Advisor Hybrid WFH to £130k

As a Principal Technology Consultant, you'll own the senior technical relationship across a portfolio of strategic clients, acting as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CTOs and senior IT leaders. Combining substantial architecture and solution-design expertise with strong commercial and consulting skills, you'll shape technology strategy, influence transformation roadmaps and ensure technology investments deliver meaningful business outcomes.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role rather than a hands-on engineering position. You'll bring the technical depth to challenge architecture, assess complex solutions and make confident recommendations, while leading executive-level discussions and advising on technology strategy, organisational structures, team responsibilities and operating models.

Working closely with sales and account leadership, you'll take an active role in client discovery, pre-sales, solution shaping and proposals, identifying opportunities to grow strategic accounts through new services, renewals and expansion. You'll provide technical leadership across cloud, data, AI and applications, reviewing solution designs, managing technical risk and working with architects, delivery leads and engineering teams to ensure successful execution.

You'll also lead technology roadmap and innovation discussions, advising clients on emerging Microsoft, Google Cloud and AI capabilities. Alongside your client work, you'll have opportunities to contribute thought leadership, industry events and marketing initiatives, helping raise the profile of the organisation's technology expertise.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues at the London office or client sites, typically 1-2 days a week, although this can vary.

About you:

• You have strong technical leadership and advisory experience within a consultancy or MSP with strong architecture / solution design experience
• You have a technical background and can lead and direct CIO / CTO discussions around cloud, data and AI adoption, challenging assumptions and making confident recommendations
• You have experience of creating technical product roadmaps and writing strategy documentation
• You understand and can manage the impact of change from both a technical and people perspective
• You are experienced in building trusted relationships and translating technical capabilities into commercial outcomes, comfortable advising clients on team structures, responsibilities and organisational change
• You have experience of supporting or shaping bids / proposals, with active involvement in discovery, solution shaping and proposals
• You're comfortable delivering presentations and speaking at events as and when required
• You hold SC Clearance (or able to achieve it i.e. UK citizen for 5 years plus)
