The role
This role will be responsible for managing a caseload of probate matters from instruction through to completion, ensuring that estates are administered efficiently, compliantly and with a high standard of client care.
You will work closely with clients, beneficiaries and third parties, providing guidance and support throughout the probate process.
What you'll be doing
· Managing a caseload of probate files, including both taxable and non-taxable estates.
· Preparing and submitting probate applications and associated documentation.
· Collecting and valuing estate assets and liabilities.
· Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, financial institutions and other third parties.
· Drafting estate accounts and ensuring accurate distribution of assets.
· Providing clear and timely updates to clients throughout the probate process.
· Ensuring all work is carried out in line with legal requirements, company procedures and service level agreements.
· Identifying and escalating any risks or complex issues to senior team members where appropriate.
· Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file records and case management systems.
· Supporting continuous improvement of probate processes and systems.
· Drafting Wills and Lasting Power’s of Attorney’s
· Carrying out any other reasonable duties requested by management.
What you'll bring
Essential
· Previous experience handling probate or estate administration matters.
· Good understanding of probate procedures, inheritance tax and estate administration.
· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
· Excellent communication and client care skills.
· High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
· Legal qualification - LPC or CILEX with practising rights.
· Experience dealing with complex or high-value estates.
· Familiarity with case management systems.
· Experience working to performance targets or service level agreements.
