About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Process Control Engineer to enhance the automation and efficiency of their manufacturing operations in Derby . This role is essential for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced process control systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and product quality. You will work closely with process engineers and operations teams to develop robust control strategies, troubleshoot automation issues, and drive continuous improvement in process stability. Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for new and existing processes.
- Develop and tune advanced process control (APC) strategies to optimize process performance, yield, and energy efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process control hardware, software, and instrumentation.
- Collaborate with process engineers to define control philosophies and develop P&IDs incorporating instrumentation and control elements.
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, including logic diagrams, cause-and-effect charts, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide training and technical support to operations and maintenance personnel on control systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in process control engineering within a manufacturing or chemical industry environment.
- Proficiency with major DCS/PLC platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Siemens S7, Rockwell Logix).
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation , control loops, and tuning methodologies.
- Experience with advanced process control (APC) techniques is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
