Senior Process Control Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Process Control Engineer to join their advanced manufacturing team, with the flexibility to work remotely. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced process control (APC) strategies and systems for complex industrial processes.
• Configure and maintain distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Develop and deploy model predictive control (MPC) algorithms and other optimization techniques.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues, performing root cause analysis to prevent future problems.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to define control objectives and improve process performance.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies in process automation and control, recommending their adoption where appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (8+ years) in process control engineering , including DCS and PLC programming.
• Proficiency in advanced control techniques such as Model Predictive Control (MPC) and statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong understanding of process dynamics, instrumentation, and automation hardware.
• Experience with simulation and modeling tools for control system design and testing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication capabilities for remote collaboration in Leeds .
