Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer to join their growing team in Derby . This role is central to developing innovative and efficient process designs for a variety of chemical and industrial applications. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and refining process flow schemes, equipment sizing, and utility requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed process designs, including PFDs and P&IDs.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs.
• Size and specify process equipment such as reactors, columns, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process designs.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in process design and engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS).
• Strong understanding of P&ID development and equipment sizing.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety practices.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
