About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Process Development Chemist to join their innovative research and development team based in Coventry, West Midlands . This role focuses on developing and optimising novel chemical synthesis routes for new product lines. You will play a vital part in translating laboratory discoveries into viable, scalable manufacturing processes, ensuring quality and efficiency from bench to production. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimise synthetic routes for new chemical entities, focusing on yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct laboratory experiments, analyse results, and document findings meticulously.
- Scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant, identifying and resolving any technical challenges.
- Collaborate with process engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
- Implement and adhere to strict quality control and safety protocols throughout all development stages.
- Stay abreast of new chemical technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in synthetic organic chemistry and process development.
- Hands-on experience with various analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, NMR).
- Experience in scaling up chemical processes from lab to pilot or commercial scale.
- Familiarity with process safety principles and risk assessments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent report-writing skills.
