Process Development Engineer (Pharmaceutical)

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Engineer to enhance their pharmaceutical manufacturing operations in Glasgow . This role involves optimizing existing manufacturing processes and developing new ones to ensure efficiency, scalability, and compliance with stringent pharmaceutical standards. You will work closely with production, R&D, and quality teams to troubleshoot process issues, implement improvements, and support technology transfer activities. This hybrid position allows for significant hands-on work in the plant alongside remote analysis and planning, contributing to the reliable production of vital medicines.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, scale-up, and optimize pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Design and execute experiments to evaluate process parameters and identify critical control points.
• Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
• Implement process improvements using statistical methods and process analytical technology (PAT).
• Prepare detailed process development reports, validation protocols, and manufacturing instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technology transfer and new product introduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with process validation, scale-up, and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with GMP regulations and quality systems.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
