About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Process Development Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role focuses on the innovation and refinement of chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and cost-effective. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements and new product introductions, working within a dedicated research and development team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of new chemical synthesis routes and manufacturing processes.
- Conduct laboratory-scale experiments and pilot plant studies to gather data and assess process viability.
- Develop detailed process documentation, including operating procedures, batch records, and validation protocols.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure successful technology transfer and scale-up to commercial manufacturing.
- Analyze experimental results and provide technical recommendations for process improvements and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all development activities comply with stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in process development, optimization, and scale-up in a chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
- Expertise in reaction kinetics, separation techniques, and process analytical technology (PAT).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies.
- Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced R&D environment.
