About the Role
Our client seeks a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their manufacturing hub in Birmingham . This role is critical for enhancing and innovating the production processes that underpin our key product lines. You will engage in hands-on development work, collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize chemical manufacturing processes to improve yield, throughput, and product quality.
- Conduct pilot plant trials and scale-up studies, meticulously documenting results and analyses.
- Identify and implement process improvements using statistical methods and data analysis tools.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot operational issues and provide technical support.
- Ensure all process designs and modifications comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the design and specification of new process equipment and instrumentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in process development, scale-up, and troubleshooting in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical process control (SPC).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent teamwork and communication capabilities, with a commitment to safe working practices.
