Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a renowned specialty chemicals manufacturer, is looking for a diligent Process Development Engineer to join their innovative research and development team in Coventry, West Midlands . This pivotal role involves the scale-up and optimization of new chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial scale. You will play a key part in translating novel chemical syntheses into robust, cost-effective manufacturing solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize chemical manufacturing processes, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and safety.
• Conduct pilot plant trials, analyze data, and report on process performance and key learnings.
• Design and specify process equipment for pilot and full-scale production units.
• Collaborate with R&D chemists to ensure smooth technology transfer of new products and processes.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency and product quality.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support within the chemical industry.
• Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and data analysis.
• Familiarity with process safety principles and relevant regulatory standards.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
