Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and analytical Process Development Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Brighton . This role focuses on researching, developing, and implementing new manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will play a key part in optimising existing production methods and driving technological advancements. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background with a passion for continuous improvement and a proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical, industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate new manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
• Design, develop, and scale up new production processes from concept to full implementation.
• Conduct experiments and trials to optimise process parameters for efficiency, yield, and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process-related issues encountered during manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless process integration.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and validation protocols.
• Implement and monitor key process indicators (KPIs) to track performance and drive improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Proven experience in process development or manufacturing engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with data analysis and process simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to manage projects and work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.
• Familiarity with automation and control systems is a plus.
