Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Process Development Engineer to contribute to their cutting-edge research and development efforts in Cardiff . This role focuses on designing, scaling, and optimizing novel chemical processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize new chemical synthesis routes and purification techniques.
• Scale up processes from laboratory to pilot plant, identifying and resolving potential challenges.
• Conduct techno-economic assessments for new process concepts and improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and engineers to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Develop process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records.
• Evaluate and implement new processing technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in process development , scale-up, and optimization, preferably in a pharmaceutical or fine chemicals context.
• Hands-on experience with laboratory and pilot plant equipment.
• Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
