About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Development Engineer to join their team in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial for the design, optimisation, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety. You will work closely with R&D, engineering, and production departments to translate laboratory innovations into robust, scalable industrial processes. This hybrid position offers the best of both worlds, allowing for focused work at home and collaborative engagement at our client's site, fostering a dynamic and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and validation of new chemical and manufacturing processes from concept to commercialisation.
- Conduct pilot plant trials and troubleshoot any issues encountered during scale-up operations.
- Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs) and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, and operating procedures.
- Analyse process data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in yield, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers and internal engineering teams on process equipment design and specification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in process development , scale-up, and manufacturing support.
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
- Experience with process simulation software is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities for a hybrid work model.
