About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Process Development Engineer to join their innovative team in Birmingham . You will play a crucial role in developing, refining, and implementing new chemical processes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency. This position involves hands-on work in pilot plants and production environments, requiring a strong understanding of chemical principles and practical engineering skills. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into robust, scalable industrial processes, contributing significantly to the company's growth and technological leadership in the chemical industry, working within a supportive and forward-thinking engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes for new and existing products.
- Design and execute experimental plans in pilot-scale facilities to validate process parameters.
- Analyze process data, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance yield and reduce costs.
- Prepare detailed process descriptions, PFDs, and P&IDs for new process implementations.
- Ensure all process development activities adhere to strict safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during process scale-up and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or chemical process engineering.
- Hands-on experience with pilot plant operations and process scale-up challenges.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis techniques.
- Solid understanding of reaction engineering, separation technologies, and process safety principles.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
