About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative Process Development Scientist to join their biopharmaceutical development team in Brighton . This role is critical for optimizing and scaling up manufacturing processes for novel biologic drug candidates. You will work on developing robust, reproducible, and cost-effective processes that meet stringent quality and regulatory standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a scientist with a strong understanding of upstream or downstream processing to contribute to the advancement of life-saving therapies, operating within a hybrid work model that supports both intensive lab work and collaborative sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize upstream or downstream processes for biologics manufacturing.
- Scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial scale.
- Conduct experiments to understand critical process parameters (CPPs) and critical quality attributes (CQAs).
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions to ensure process robustness and efficiency.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for process monitoring and product characterization.
- Write technical reports, protocols, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in process development for biopharmaceuticals.
- Strong understanding of cell culture, fermentation, purification techniques, or analytical methods.
- Experience with process modeling and statistical experimental design (DoE) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a lab environment.
- Proficiency in scientific documentation and reporting.
