Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Process Development Scientist to join their advanced manufacturing team. This fully remote role is instrumental in designing, optimizing, and scaling up manufacturing processes for novel pharmaceutical products. You will apply your deep understanding of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical sciences to ensure robust, efficient, and compliant production methods. This position is ideal for a highly motivated scientist who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and contributing to the development of life-changing medicines from a remote location, fostering innovation and collaboration across dispersed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize scalable manufacturing processes for small molecules and/or biologics.
• Perform process characterization studies and risk assessments to ensure process robustness and reproducibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered during process development and scale-up activities.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality control teams to ensure seamless technology transfer.
• Write detailed technical reports, protocols, and validation documents.
• Stay current with new technologies and methodologies in pharmaceutical process development and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development or scale-up.
• Strong knowledge of unit operations, process analytical technology (PAT), and QbD principles.
• Experience with process simulation and modeling software is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and team collaboration.
