About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Development Scientist to join their dynamic manufacturing operations team in Portsmouth . This role focuses on optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will be instrumental in transferring new products from R&D to commercial manufacturing, troubleshoot process issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on scientist to contribute to the successful production of vital medicines in Portsmouth and develop expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale-up manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical products.
- Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to evaluate process parameters and identify critical control points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing process deviations and technical issues.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Author process development reports, validation protocols, and batch records.
- Ensure all activities comply with GMP regulations and internal quality standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in pharmaceutical process development and scale-up.
- Familiarity with GMP manufacturing environments and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of chemical or biological processes used in pharmaceutical production.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
