About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Process Development Scientist to join their innovative manufacturing science team in Reading . This role is crucial for optimizing and scaling up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, robustness, and cost-effectiveness. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to develop and improve processes for both existing and new products. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and scale-up pharmaceutical manufacturing processes for APIs and drug products.
- Design and execute experiments using Design of Experiments (DoE) principles to understand process parameters and their impact.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions to improve process performance and yield.
- Conduct process validation activities and prepare associated documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth technology transfer.
- Characterize process intermediates and final products using relevant analytical techniques.
- Author technical reports, process descriptions, and relevant sections of regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- MSc or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Hands-on experience with process scale-up, optimization, and validation.
- Proficiency in relevant analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectroscopy).
- Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
