Process Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is actively searching for a talented Process Development Scientist to contribute to their innovative research and development efforts in Milton Keynes . This role focuses on the design, experimentation, and optimisation of chemical processes for new product development and existing product improvements. You will work in state-of-the-art laboratories, collaborating with a team of scientists and engineers to translate laboratory findings into viable industrial processes. Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute laboratory experiments to develop and optimise chemical synthesis routes.
• Characterise products and intermediates using analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC, NMR).
• Scale up laboratory processes to pilot plant and manufacturing scale, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement solutions to improve yield, purity, and cost-effectiveness.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and conclusions thoroughly in technical reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering , or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in process development, scale-up, and optimisation within a laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in various analytical and characterisation techniques.
• Knowledge of process safety principles and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience working in pharmaceutical or fine chemical industries is a plus for this Milton Keynes position.
