Process Engineer - Specialty Chemicals

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Process Engineer with expertise in specialty chemicals to join their established team in Manchester . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the efficiency and safety of our chemical manufacturing operations. You will be involved in the day-to-day running of the plant, focusing on process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations to ensure processes run efficiently, safely, and within specified parameters.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization to increase yield and reduce waste.
• Support capital investment projects, including process design and commissioning.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• 4-6 years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical manufacturing environment, preferably with specialty chemicals.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex process issues and implement effective solutions.
• Experience with process safety management (PSM) principles.
• Proficiency in process control systems and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
