About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their operations in Birmingham . In this role, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence by identifying inefficiencies and developing practical solutions that enhance productivity and reduce costs. You will work closely with operational teams to implement changes that improve workflow, quality, and overall performance. This is a hands-on position for an engineer passionate about continuous improvement, contributing directly to the company's success in the competitive Birmingham industrial landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze bottlenecks and waste in production and operational processes.
- Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, including Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Design and conduct experiments to test and validate proposed process improvements.
- Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops to drive employee engagement in process improvement.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the effectiveness of implemented changes.
- Provide training and support to operational staff on new procedures and best practices.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a process improvement or industrial engineering role.
- Certifications in Lean or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
