About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated Process Improvement Engineer to join their manufacturing facility in Portsmouth . This is an on-site role where you will focus on enhancing operational efficiency and productivity through the application of industrial engineering principles. You will work directly with production teams to analyze existing processes, identify areas of waste, and implement effective solutions to streamline operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving a culture of continuous improvement within the plant, ensuring quality standards are met and costs are managed effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer passionate about hands-on process optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for efficiency gains.
Develop and implement lean manufacturing strategies, including 5S, Kaizen, and value stream mapping.
Design and optimize workstation layouts and material flow for improved productivity.
Collaborate with production staff to train them on new processes and ensure adoption.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports on process improvements.
Contribute to the reduction of waste and cost in production operations.

Requirements

Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
Demonstrable experience in process improvement or manufacturing engineering.
Strong understanding of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Proficiency in using data analysis tools for process evaluation.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within a manufacturing environment in Portsmouth .
