About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their established operations in Birmingham . This role is critical in driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives throughout their manufacturing facilities. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing changes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality. This is a hands-on position perfect for an engineer who is passionate about optimizing workflows and implementing best practices in a busy industrial environment, working closely with production teams to achieve tangible results and foster a culture of ongoing enhancement within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analyses of production processes, identifying areas for improvement using methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Design, test, and implement process modifications to increase throughput, reduce cycle times, and minimize operational costs.
- Develop and document new operational procedures and work instructions, ensuring clear communication and training for all staff.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams focused on efficiency gains and waste reduction.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented changes and provide ongoing support to production teams.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations management to set performance targets and track progress towards departmental goals.
Requirements
- Degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Management, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Proven experience (3-5 years) in process improvement, operations analysis, or a similar role within manufacturing.
- Demonstrated understanding and application of Lean Six Sigma principles, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software packages.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to process challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively train and motivate colleagues.
