Process Safety Engineer - Remote

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis. This critical role will focus on ensuring the highest standards of safety across all chemical operations and development projects. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments, developing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate process hazard analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and what-if studies.
• Develop and implement robust process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections, identifying potential hazards and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international safety regulations and industry standards.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide expert advice and training on process safety best practices to engineering and operational teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in process safety engineering within the chemical or process industries.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and safety management systems.
• Familiarity with relevant legislation such as COMAH and ATEX directives.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, effective for remote collaboration and reporting.
