Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Process Safety Engineer to join their fully remote team, dedicated to upholding the highest safety standards in the oil and gas industry. This crucial role involves developing and implementing robust process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct and facilitate Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and other risk assessment techniques.
• Investigate process safety incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., COMAH).
• Develop and deliver process safety training to site personnel and project teams.
• Review designs and modifications for new and existing facilities to ensure process safety integrity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process safety, with a significant portion in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment methodologies, and safety-critical equipment.
• Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
