About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a skilled Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Oxford , operating on a hybrid basis. This critical role ensures the highest standards of safety are maintained across all chemical operations, focusing on hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of robust safety management systems. You will work closely with engineering and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture and minimize risks. This is an ideal position for a safety-focused engineer looking to make a significant contribution to operational integrity and compliance in a challenging industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
- Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Provide technical expertise on process safety matters to engineering, operations, and management teams.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to site personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical or process industry.
- In-depth knowledge of PSM standards (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR ) and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and safety software tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
