About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their expanding operations team, remotely supporting activities across their UK assets, including those in Glasgow . This pivotal role focuses on identifying, evaluating, and mitigating process-related hazards to ensure the highest standards of safety across all facilities. You will conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), manage Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments, and develop robust safety procedures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of process safety management systems and a passion for driving a strong safety culture throughout the organization, from a remote working setup but with potential visits to Scottish operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) systems.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Manage the Management of Change (MOC) process to assess safety implications of modifications.
- Provide technical expertise and training on process safety principles to operational and engineering staff.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering within the oil and gas industry .
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and SIL assessment.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g., HSE LOPA guidance, OSHA PSM).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills for remote collaboration and occasional site visits near Glasgow .
