Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Bradford . This critical role focuses on ensuring the safety and integrity of all chemical processes and plant operations, thereby protecting personnel, the environment, and assets. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety legislation. Working within a supportive team, you will contribute to fostering a strong safety culture across the organization, driving continuous improvement in safety performance in West Yorkshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to plant personnel.
• Review and approve management of change (MOC) documentation for process modifications.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and safety design principles.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards such as COMAH, OSHA PSM, or similar.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on-site and remotely as required.
