Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Engineer to join their globally distributed team, supporting operations remotely. You will play a key part in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related risks, ensuring compliance with stringent safety regulations and promoting a robust safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and What-If studies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical expertise on process safety matters to project teams, operations, and management.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of process safety training programs for staff across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process safety, specifically within the Oil & Gas or chemical processing industries.
• In-depth knowledge of process safety standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, API safety guidelines).
• Proven experience conducting and facilitating PHAs.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex safety data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
