Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their team in Southampton . This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety are maintained across all Oil & Gas operations, minimizing risks associated with hazardous processes. You will be responsible for conducting safety studies, implementing risk management strategies, and fostering a robust safety culture. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP and LOPA studies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive process safety management (PSM) systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements for process safety.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety principles to operations and engineering teams.
• Maintain safety-critical equipment and integrity management programs.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process safety engineering within the Oil & Gas industry .
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA , and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with PSM regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, Seveso).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
