About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly diligent and proactive Process Safety Engineer to join their globally dispersed safety assurance team, operating from a remote-first basis with links to Liverpool, Merseyside, UK . This crucial role ensures the highest standards of safety are maintained across all operational phases within the Oil & Gas industry . You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards, developing and implementing robust safety management systems, and promoting a strong safety culture across international projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical safety initiatives, work with advanced safety methodologies, and collaborate with diverse teams worldwide, all within a flexible, remote work framework that emphasizes proactive risk management and continuous improvement in safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
- Develop and maintain Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and safety instrumented systems (SIS) lifecycle management.
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of process safety management (PSM) systems and procedures.
- Review engineering designs and operational changes to ensure compliance with process safety regulations and standards.
- Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver process safety training programs to operational and engineering staff.
- Stay updated on evolving process safety regulations and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering , specifically within the Oil & Gas sector .
- In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies, risk assessment techniques, and PSM elements.
- Familiarity with international safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, Seveso).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into actionable safety recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration and reporting.
