Process Safety Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their team, operating under a fully remote model. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and integrity of our client's energy processing facilities and operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing process safety programs, conducting hazard analyses, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of chemical processes, risk management, and safety engineering principles, contributing to a culture of zero harm across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to influence safety standards from a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) , What-If analyses, and other risk assessment methodologies.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) systems and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) in the UK.
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver process safety training programs to relevant personnel.
• Review and approve Management of Change (MOC) requests related to process safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering within the chemical or energy industries.
• In-depth knowledge of PSM principles , including PHA, LOPA, and incident investigation.
• Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote environment.
