Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven and analytical Procurement Analyst to join their purchasing team, supporting operations primarily from a remote capacity. This role is fundamental in providing critical insights into spending patterns, supplier performance, and market trends to inform strategic sourcing decisions. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting on procurement data, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong analytical skills to contribute significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function, working collaboratively with the wider team to optimize purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze procurement data from various sources to identify trends, anomalies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop and maintain regular reports on spend, supplier performance, contract compliance, and other key procurement metrics.
• Support the procurement team in conducting market research and supplier analysis to inform sourcing strategies.
• Assist in the preparation of RFPs, tenders, and other sourcing documentation.
• Identify and recommend improvements to procurement processes, systems, and tools.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement department and individual categories.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Analyst , Data Analyst , or in a similar analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Good understanding of procurement principles and supply chain operations.
• Effective communication skills, capable of presenting complex data in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
