Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven and meticulous Procurement Analyst to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is vital in supporting the purchasing department by providing critical data analysis, market intelligence, and insights to inform strategic sourcing decisions and operational improvements. You will be responsible for tracking spend, monitoring supplier performance, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze spend data to identify trends, savings opportunities, and areas for process improvement.
• Support the development of sourcing strategies by providing market intelligence and supplier performance metrics.
• Assist in the preparation of RFx documents, bid evaluations, and supplier selection processes.
• Track and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and contract compliance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and databases.
• Collaborate with buyers and category managers to ensure effective procurement operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a procurement support or analytical role, with a strong understanding of purchasing data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience with procurement software or ERP systems is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to present data clearly.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
