Procurement Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and analytical Procurement Analyst to join their purchasing team, working remotely from Edinburgh . This role is crucial for driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the procurement function through in-depth data analysis and strategic insights. You will be responsible for tracking spend, identifying savings opportunities, and supporting the procurement team in negotiations and supplier management by providing robust data-driven recommendations. The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative background and a keen eye for detail, enabling them to translate complex data into actionable strategies that enhance our client's procurement performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, and report on procurement data, including spend patterns, supplier performance, and cost trends.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key procurement metrics and KPIs.
• Support category managers and buyers in developing sourcing strategies and preparing for supplier negotiations.
• Conduct market research and assist in the evaluation of potential new suppliers.
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Procurement Analyst or in a similar data-focused analytical role.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel (advanced), SQL, or BI platforms.
• Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
• Good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles is advantageous.
