About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Procurement Manager to lead their procurement strategy and operations in Reading . This senior role will involve developing and implementing robust procurement processes, managing a team of procurement professionals, and driving significant cost savings across all spend categories. You will be responsible for establishing strong supplier relationships, ensuring ethical sourcing practices, and mitigating supply chain risks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing, team leadership, and delivering measurable business results. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with company objectives.
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Oversee all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
Manage key supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews.

Requirements

Extensive experience in procurement leadership roles, with a proven record of success.
Strong experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and complex contract negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent understanding of supply chain best practices and risk management.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MCIPS) or a Master's degree in a related field.
