Procurement Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Procurement Manager to lead their procurement function based in Reading . This senior position demands a strategic thinker with a strong track record in managing complex supply chains and driving significant cost savings. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective procurement strategies, overseeing a team of procurement professionals, and building robust relationships with key suppliers. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the company procures goods and services efficiently and ethically, contributing directly to the organization's profitability and operational excellence in the technology services sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies across various spend categories.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Manage key supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and negotiate high-value contracts.
• Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle , ensuring compliance with policies and best practices.
• Analyze market intelligence and spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to align procurement objectives with business goals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful sourcing strategies and lead complex negotiations.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, contract law, and risk management in procurement.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with procurement software and advanced analytics tools.
• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MCIPS highly preferred.
