About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and proactive Procurement Officer to join their established purchasing team based in Belfast . This role is crucial for the smooth operation of the business, involving the sourcing, purchasing, and management of various goods and services essential for daily operations. You will play a key part in ensuring value for money, maintaining supplier relationships, and adhering to procurement policies. Working within a dedicated team, you will contribute to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the organisation's supply chain, gaining valuable experience in a critical business function.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Source suppliers, obtain quotations, and evaluate offers based on price, quality, and delivery terms.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with suppliers, addressing queries and resolving any delivery or quality issues.
- Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, pricing, and performance data.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and provide updates on order status.
Requirements
- Experience in a purchasing or procurement administrative role is required.
- Good understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for data management and reporting.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy office environment.
