Procurement Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join their supply chain team in Belfast . In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient execution of procurement activities, ensuring that goods and services are acquired at the best possible value and delivered on time. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and manage relationships with a portfolio of suppliers. This is an ideal position for an organized individual with a solid understanding of purchasing principles to contribute to the operational success of a leading organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process for assigned goods and services, from requisition to payment.
• Identify and vet potential suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and ethical standards.
• Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable conditions.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery or quality.
• Support the procurement department's goals and initiatives through effective execution of tasks.

Requirements

• Experience in a purchasing or procurement role, demonstrating knowledge of procurement processes.
• Proficiency with procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
