Procurement Specialist - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and commercially astute Procurement Specialist to join their purchasing team in Wolverhampton , focusing on the FMCG sector. This role is instrumental in sourcing high-quality raw materials, packaging, and services at competitive prices, ensuring the smooth operation of manufacturing and supply chains. You will be responsible for supplier negotiation, contract management, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining strong supplier relationships and ensuring supply chain resilience. Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure raw materials, packaging, and other indirect goods and services for the business.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities and competitiveness.
• Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and conduct regular supplier reviews.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., R&D, Operations, Finance) to understand their procurement needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3-5 years) in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with contract management and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems would be advantageous.
