Procurement Specialist - FMCG

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Procurement Specialist to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This hybrid role is vital for ensuring the efficient sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods necessary for our client's extensive product lines. You will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating favorable terms, and driving cost savings while upholding quality standards, contributing to the operational efficiency and profitability of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a wide range of goods and services, including raw materials, packaging, and indirect supplies for FMCG production.
• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimal value.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and assess supplier performance.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as R&D, Production, and Finance, to understand their procurement needs.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Procurement Specialist or similar role, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze spending patterns and market trends.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
