About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Procurement Specialist to join their supply chain team within the FMCG sector, operating with a hybrid model from Nottingham . This role is integral to sourcing raw materials, packaging, and other essential goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability. You will manage supplier relationships, conduct negotiations, and contribute to the optimisation of the procurement process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of procurement practices, excellent analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to working with internal departments to meet the dynamic needs of the fast-moving consumer goods market.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure goods and services, focusing on cost savings, quality, and supply chain efficiency.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, maintaining strong supplier relationships.
- Conduct competitive bidding processes, analyse proposals, and negotiate favourable contract terms.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely fulfilment.
- Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new sourcing opportunities relevant to the FMCG sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within the FMCG industry .
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical ability and proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of supply chain best practices and risk management.
