About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist with a focus on indirect services to join their established purchasing team in Reading . This role is vital for ensuring the company procures essential non-operational goods and services, such as IT, facilities management, and professional services, in the most effective and cost-efficient manner. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving value for the business. This is an on-site role requiring regular engagement with internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned indirect service categories.
- Identify and engage potential suppliers, conduct tender processes, and evaluate proposals.
- Negotiate favourable contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing.
- Monitor supplier performance and manage contract compliance, addressing any issues proactively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their service requirements and ensure procurement solutions meet business needs.
- Contribute to procurement strategy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience as a Procurement Specialist , with a strong focus on indirect services procurement.
- Demonstrated ability in managing supplier contracts and performance.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with procurement best practices and relevant legal/contractual frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent professional experience.
