Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to join their team at their main operational hub in Portsmouth, Hampshire . This is a critical, office-based role where you will manage the acquisition of goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs, source reliable suppliers, negotiate favourable terms, and ensure smooth delivery. The successful candidate will be adept at navigating the complexities of the procurement process and committed to driving value for the organization in Portsmouth .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for assigned categories, from requisition to receipt.
• Identify, vet, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and ethical standards.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any quality or delivery issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to manage budgets and payment processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, demonstrating a strong understanding of the process.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and standard office applications.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, based in our Portsmouth office.
• Relevant qualifications or certifications in procurement are a plus.
