Procurement Specialist

About the Role

Our client, a key player in the FMCG sector , is looking for a proactive and skilled Procurement Specialist to manage sourcing and purchasing activities from their Portsmouth office. This role is integral to ensuring the cost-effective and timely acquisition of raw materials, packaging, and services critical to production. You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure optimal terms and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other indirect services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable contract agreements.
• Manage supplier performance and relationships, conducting regular reviews and addressing any issues.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor market trends and commodity prices to identify potential risks and opportunities for procurement.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, R&D, and finance, to understand their procurement needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier contracts.
• Strong understanding of sourcing strategies and supply chain dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
