About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and services essential for the company's operations. You will work closely with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and maintain high standards of quality and reliability. The position operates on a hybrid model, allowing for a balance between essential in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility, contributing to the company's procurement strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and procure materials, components, and services from approved suppliers, ensuring best value and quality.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance monitoring, contract management, and dispute resolution.
• Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and emerging sourcing opportunities in the FMCG market .
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier information, and pricing details.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations and product development, to understand their procurement needs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Procurement Specialist or similar purchasing role, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier contracts.
• Excellent understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
