Product Development Scientist - Food

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented and innovative Product Development Scientist to join their dedicated research and development team in Bradford . You will play a crucial role in creating new and improving existing food products within the dynamic FMCG sector. This position requires a passion for food science, creativity in product formulation, and a keen understanding of consumer trends to develop market-leading products that meet stringent quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new FMCG food products from concept generation through to commercialization, including formulation, testing, and scale-up.
• Conduct benchtop development, pilot plant trials, and full-scale production runs, ensuring product quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with marketing, sensory, and technical teams to understand consumer needs and market trends, translating these into innovative product concepts.
• Ensure all product development activities comply with regulatory standards, food safety requirements, and company quality policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during the product development process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in product development within the food industry , preferably in FMCG .
• Strong understanding of food chemistry, processing techniques, and sensory evaluation.
• Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and statistical software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to innovation.
