About the Role

Our client is looking for an innovative and skilled Product Development Scientist to join their research and development team in Bristol . This hybrid role is central to creating and improving products within the FMCG sector , focusing on scientific formulation and process optimization. You will conduct experiments, analyse results, and contribute to the full product lifecycle, from concept to commercialization. The position offers a blend of hands-on laboratory work and remote collaboration, allowing for both focused scientific inquiry and team synergy.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scientific research and experimentation to develop new products and improve existing formulations.
• Design and execute laboratory experiments, meticulously documenting procedures and results.
• Analyse product data and performance metrics to ensure quality and efficacy standards are met.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and regulatory affairs, throughout the product development process.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during product development and scale-up.
• Stay abreast of scientific advancements, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to FMCG product development.

Requirements

• Proven experience in product development, formulation science, or a related R&D role, preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong understanding of scientific principles, experimental design, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation relevant to product development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid R&D environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
