About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and skilled Product Development Scientist to join their research and development team within the FMCG sector in Liverpool . You will be instrumental in creating new and improving existing products, focusing on formulation, testing, and sensory evaluation to meet consumer needs and market trends. This role requires a strong scientific background, creativity, and a passion for bringing new products to life. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory research and development for new FMCG products, focusing on formulation, stability, and efficacy.
• Develop and optimize product formulations, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Perform sensory analysis and consumer testing to evaluate product attributes and gather feedback.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during product development and scale-up.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to understand consumer needs and translate them into product concepts.
• Work closely with manufacturing to ensure seamless transfer of processes from lab to production scale.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Product Development Scientist or similar R&D role in the FMCG industry.
• Strong knowledge of product formulation, chemical principles, and analytical techniques.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques relevant to product development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
