About the Role

Our client, a renowned innovator in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is looking for a talented and dedicated Product Development Scientist to join their research and development team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for the creation and refinement of new and existing products, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, safety, and consumer appeal. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and formulation to scale-up and launch, working with cutting-edge technologies and ingredients. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute product development projects from concept to commercialization within the FMCG domain.
• Formulate new product prototypes and optimize existing formulations based on sensory, nutritional, and performance criteria.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, pilot plant trials, and scale-up activities, ensuring reproducibility and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to ensure successful product launches.
• Maintain detailed records of experiments, findings, and project progress, adhering to regulatory and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in product development , preferably within the FMCG industry .
• Strong understanding of formulation science, ingredient functionality, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent laboratory skills, including experience with analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in problem-solving and project management.
